About Us
Awful Annie's has been a long time favorite Breakfast/Lunch Restaurant in Auburn and Lincoln. We are very proud of our scrumptiously delicious food which we have been voted KCRA's "Best Breakfast in Sacramento" 4 years in a row. Please join us for your own Annie's experience.
Awful Annie's - Auburn, CA
In 1991 on one of our yearly visits to the Auburn area, my husband Don and I stopped at Annie's for lunch. We were so charmed by the place that we asked the owner if she'd like to sell. She surprised us by saying that "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do." Since owning a restaurant had always intrigued me, we started negotiations and in a short time Annie's was ours.
I should let you know that I had worked in the restaurant business all my life so it was not new to me. In saying that, I still had no idea how much work it was to manage and run Annie's by myself. Don owned his own business in southern California and was commuting weekly, working as a director of photography specializing in visual effects.
Awful Annie's - Lincoln, CA
After years of that routine, we decided to look for another location nearby, and after finding another historical site, Don took a year off to build Annie's in Lincoln, Ca., which is only a 20 minute drive from Auburn. We opened in Lincoln on April 12th, 2004, and have been running since.
Don now works with me full time operating the two stores with the help of our two sons, Adam and Bryan who have graduated from Sacramento State majoring in communications and restaurant management. We are also fortunate to have our daughter-in-laws Melissa and Lindsay with Liz Zapper, Amy Pipione, and Mike Lynch, our main cook helping to manage day to day activities. (There is always something going on at a restaurant).
Awful Annie's in Auburn is open 7 days a week 8am to 3pm. We are the home of Grandma's Bread Pudding with Brandy Sauce. We also offer a full bar to serve you!
